On a cold and snowy February day, a group of friends and strangers came out to volunteer for Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh. One saw a post on Facebook and came out alone. Another came to celebrate her birthday by serving someone else. A few work for the same company, but only get to see each other when they volunteer together. ALL worked hard and completed several projects to make Ms. Bette's home safer and healthier, including building her new front porch stairs! Thanks everyone!
Bette, great-grandmother of three, has walked up and down these dangerous stairs everyday for years just to walk to work. Her mail carrier has avoided them by throwing her mail on the front porch.
The finished project! Bette will now be able to get to work safely. Decreasing the risk of falls is one of the best ways to reduce injuries and ensure our seniors can age in place.
Thank you Mike, Ray, and Bob for your outstanding and impactful work!
