The Penn Ave. Corridor rose to a peak of development and progress in the late decades of the 19th century. Industry was booming, schools were being built, and the social fabric of the community flourished. But the prosperity of past years faded as the area transitioned into the 20th century. Although many ideas for a revitalized East End were envisioned, many of the plans to redevelop the community never became a reality. However, thanks to the engagement of citizens and community groups, new and exciting plans have gone underway as the East End has transitioned into the 21st century.

Rebuilding Together has partnered with the Urban Redevelopment Authority to better assist the needs of homeowners in the Penn Avenue Corridor. The URA and Rebuilding Together share a commitment to revitalizing neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Together we will provide leadership and the home repair expertise that can transform communities and stabilize neighborhoods.

Since 2005, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh has completed over 250 repair projects in the Penn Ave. Corridor.
